Trama:
Un giornalista italiano vive in Spagna fin da bambino. Innamorato dell'Andalusia, e avviato nella professione, decide di raccontare gli sporchi intrecci fra politica e affari nella Marbella degli anni Novanta. Gli costerà caro: verrà isolato e schiacciato psicologicamente. Sarà vittima di una campagna denigratoria che gli farà perdere la fiducia in se stesso, e l'amore per il lavoro. Forzato a trasferirsi a Madrid, si lascerà vivere fra eccessi e frustrazione professionale. Ogni mattina si sveglierà insoddisfatto di essere diventato una persona gretta e insensibile. Passerà anni cercando di scrivere un libro, oggetto misterioso di cui tutti gli amici hanno sentito senza mai vederlo. Avrà la fortuna, però, di conoscere una donna per la quale valga la pena sforzarsi di migliorare. Hello welcome to my blog Italian Alessandro Emerging Writers you'd like to introduce to the public? Tell us a little 'you. Here we start now with the tough questions when they ask ... How to submit your book ... I think the author is really complicated! What can I say ... I got in the decade leading to the door --- (but the head is stuck at 23), live in Bologna, where I was born. I spent a period of my life in Salamanca, Spain, which is crucial for my development. For ten years I have been in journalism and communication, even though I have not found the ideal environment in which to do so.
How did your passion for writing? It 'something I do it when you are small or have matured over time? I think I can say that is gained over time. In fact, I remember as a child, when the subjects were in class, I was obsessed with the length. Worship then the situations in which it was possible to lengthen the stock with lists of things took place and did not involve effort. And so I did full page of nouns separated by commas. Growing up, I noticed that the subjects in the classroom had become for me the equivalent of a few hours of rest: I did not make any effort and they went fine. Once past the university I have not written almost nothing, only to find myself confronted with the writing of the thesis. There I realized that my head was structured in a readable thesis (found on

I did not stop to wonder why he had not read before, I only collect the compliment. But I still was not ready to write something di completo di mia iniziativa. Ci sarebbero voluti ancora anni.
Ci parli un po’ del libro Parada Ópera? Quando ti è venuta l'ispirazione? In un lento processo è arrivato il momento in cui ho pensato che fosse il caso di provare a fare qualcosa di diverso, qualcosa di mio. Per anni avevo preso appunti su foglietti volanti poi, nel 2008, decisi che era maturo il tempo per trascriverli su computer. Sono stati la scintilla per farmi immaginare un lavoro completo, nient’altro: di quello che avevo scritto in Parada Ópera rimane pochissimo, forse nulla. Parlare di ispirazione forse è fuorviante: è stata quasi una necessità. Se ci ripenso, credo che avrei dovuto provarci già five or six years earlier. Maybe something would come out worse, but I broke the ice.
Why choose sentimental kind? It's been a thing desired (in the sense that you like the genre and you wanted to write a book) or was it purely coincidental? do not know if we can define Parada Ópera a sentimental novel. Maybe yes, because the feelings are the ones who move the world. In this sense, yes. However the story I had in mind the final
and two or three steps, those fundamental, nothing more.
The protagonist of the novel (which is not told the name) arrived at the threshold of 40 years and still does not know what to do with his life. In her despair, basks between alcohol and smoking. Why choose this type of man as the protagonist of the novel? Why do I see at moments of transition the most difficult, for both men and women. If you are not wearing a clear plan, a goal is a snap skid. Crucibles in which the protagonist of a life of vice, is just one of the possible reactions. Others are taking drugs, others find refuge in work, others take drugs to material property, someone asks a third party to choose its destiny - perhaps pray. Everyone has their own way of reacting to situations of difficulty or hesitation. If not then you made a choice, you just let live. Which può anche essere accettabile… Ma non auspicabile.
Quanto c'è di autobiografico nel tuo libro? Per alcuni aspetti credi di assomigliare al tuo protagonista? Molto poco. Il protagonista NON è Alessandro Marchi. C’è la Spagna, sicuramente erede della mia permanenza là. Ci sono alcuni dettagli nei comportamenti del protagonista o di altri personaggi, ma nulla di
rilevante. La bicicletta del protagonista, ad esempio, è la mia. Cose piccole, di questo genere. Col protagonista ho in comune il fatto di sentirmi in una fase di passaggio. Ho ancora quasi dieci anni davanti, prima di arrivare alla sua età. Spero che i 40 non mi colgano impreparato.
Why choose to set your novel in Spain? Any particular reason? was one of the few certainties of the book, one that was set in Spain. I wanted to tell and to feel the atmosphere of a country that I love. Then, reading the final, where else could be set?
What was your first thought when you heard that your novel was published? It was a process so long to find a publisher who was not paid, I do not remember having had the time to rejoice. When I signed nine months had passed since I started to send the book to publishers. A real pregnancy. And then I did the following: when you reached a goal I think now to the next. Specifically, how to present the book, how to create the site, but ... I remember that I had a certain effect when I had the book printed in his hand.
What is your creative process? Do something in particular while writing? If you really feel you want to write a lot, I turn off the phone and try not to have commitments that might distract me. However, writing this book I have clarified one thing: with the sole inspiration is not going anywhere. The inspiration is worth 5% of the work, the rest is factory work. We must stand in front of the computer for some ora al giorno, comunque. Tutti i giorni, se possibile. Se non esce niente,
rileggere e migliorare lo scritto. Serve tanto olio di gomito per scrivere un romanzo strutturato, con il genio si può avere l’idea ma non si porta a compimento un’opera intera.
Stai lavorando ad altri progetti letterari? Sì. Nel 2009, per cause lavorative, non ho scritto che qualche racconto, con i quali comunque mi sono tolto delle soddisfazioni. Nel 2010 invece mi sono messo di impegno per portare a compimento un romanzo che avevo abbozzato (poche pagine, a dire il vero) mentre stavo terminando Parada Ópera. Ce l’ho fatta, e ora è in concorso in un Premio Letterario.
What are your favorite writers? Why? I like writers who tell stories, too small. Indeed, preferably small and realistic. I do not like much that is not likely, let alone the literary blockbuster. In line with this idea then we are fine for older Americans: Fante, Steinbeck, Carver, for naming names. Then I love to discover the peers in Asia by Tiziano Terzani.
What do you think of the Italian publishing and especially that related to new writers? I think it's very sad that literature is so constantly confused with the market. However, it happens in general for the art. Only that I do not know why, but really all they try to write and then
creates a blockage. I note a disturbing parallel with the communications professionals: anyone think I can do, even if it has the basics, training, capabilities. Yet I wonder: I would never venture to go to design a bridge without an engineer? No! So why anyone thinks they can devote themselves to the statement? In some ways this is also found in the literature. So we find ourselves with players, singers, actors, porn stars and company who flock to the libraries with their own volumes, taking away space for writers. And they do it with great success, as the name and the cover just to sell, non il contenuto. È una situazione che soffoca il mercato degli esordienti, perché è ovvio che le librerie non facciano poi tanta distinzione sulla qualità del libro che le tiene in vita: se sono certi di vendere 1000 copie di Totti o Cassano, chi le obbliga a rischiare di esporre 100 opere diverse di esordienti, col rischio di avere molto invenduto? È un processo che diventa sempre più grave, ancora di più con la scomparsa delle librerie indipendenti. Ora si tendono ad avere pochi titoli in negozio, più o meno sempre gli stessi, più o meno delle stesse case editrici. Se sei un autore di quelle case godi, altrimenti
stai fresco.
A breve farai qualche presentazione del romanzo? I have already made five, and I think that might be enough for now. The situation that I described in my previous answer, I also suffer from the presentations: the libraries they want famous names, and many large publishing houses
copies sold. Very often with a very short-sighted thinking: great author = plenty of copies sold on that day. And often then not, because the famous book has already been purchased, either because the author is the thirtieth great presentation. A beginner, however, especially the first, is committed to 110% for anyone to call him by his parents and often lends a hand by buying a copy. My first, in December for a Library Coop, scored forty copies vendute. Non male, credo. Ho dovuto sgomitare molto per trovare alcuni spazi, e devo ringraziare tutti quelli che mi hanno aiutato a farlo. Mi sono sempre divertito molto alle presentazioni.
Dove possiamo acquistare il tuo romanzo? Consiglio caldamente di comprarlo via internet. In libreria è stato ben distribuito nei mesi immediatamente successivi la pubblicazione (ottobre 2009), ma ora non credo si trovi, tranne che a Bologna. And that, for a rookie, is tantamount to a conviction. I know that everyone is a difficult time, that every euro is worth it. It is true, of course. But can you imagine a better way to spend € 11? A pizza and a beer? Maybe. A small cinema and popcorn? A CD is not just recent? With the editor we have been committed because the price was as low as possible and, considering the paper and the care of the cover, I am satisfied.
