Ciao Mariachiara e benvenuta nel mio blog Italian Emerging Writers, ti va di presentarti al pubblico?

Salve a tutti mi chiamo Mariachiara ho 27 anni e vivo a Mantova. Sono laureata in Storia dell'arte ma il mio sogno sarebbe lavorare nel campo dell'editoria e magari riuscire a mantenermi scrivendo. La tua passione per la scrittura quando è start? It 'was a sequel to your passion for reading and for books or something you've always had?

I have always loved to read what I remember, my father accused me of giving small and yet still unable to read by myself pretending I read and rileggesero stories again and again without ever getting tired. Then in elementary school I started to write my stories, I still have six or seven notebooks full of stories, I have not abut the courage to take them back in their hands, though. I was silenced, and only in high school I started writing 17 years and did the first draft of embryonic Imprinting love, but then was called whatever you want. Then once you've opened my blog three years ago I found the courage to start writing seriously.
So much for writing, reading still is a passion that has never left me, I have the room and the house full of books and if I had not gone to the ebook do not know how I could do. I love especially science fiction, fantasy, and historical novels, preferably with a touch of romance, and I had several phases, the phase Isabel Allende, Banana Yoshimoto, Asimov, Jane Austen and many more until I discovered thanks to a TV show Buffy new genus now I'm passionate about the urban fantasy.


tell us how did the love story told in your first novel "Love Imprinting." What was your initial idea for the novel? History has always been basically the same or has changed radically from your initial idea.

The initial idea has remained the same. Anna timda and reserves and not looking for a beautiful way to win her man, is the eternal theme of the ugly duckling becomes a swan. But originally the plot was more complex. Thomas and Cordelia had more space, the book was developed more or less as it is now until the night of love, but then Anna was put out of spite con Tommaso e Marco non capiva i suoi sentimenti finchè non era troppo tardi, in una versione non li capiva proprio mai e scopriva i sentimenti di Anna per lui sull'areo che lo portava lontano da lei grazie ad un lettera che però gli era arrivata tropo tardi, c'era anche una corsa strappalacrime all'areoporto....cassai subito quella versione come troppo melodrammatica e cinematografica. In realtà tutte le varie versione che ho scritto negli anni sono ste cancellate, non riuscivo a venirne a capo, finchè finalmente stufa e spronata dal termine per presntare un romanzo al concorso indetto dalla Mondadori (What women write) non mi sono decisa a prendere in mano più seriamente il mio lavoro. Ho cassato tutto ciò che stonava e ho SEMPLIFICATO E SEMPLIFICATO. Era il mio primo romanzo e non ero in grado di portare avanti una trama troppo complessa. Ho schematizzato i capitoli e finalmente ho concluso il romanzo.
L'dea dell'imprinting, che poi ha dato vita ad un nuovo titolo per il romanzo, mi è venuta guardando in tv un film dove una bambina veniva vista come mamma da uno stormo di oche a causa proprio del'imprinting. Mi sono chiesta? Se vale per le oche perchè non per l'uomo è l'unica cosa logica che potrebbe spiegare una cosa illogica come l'amore non corrisposto.


Anna anche se timida in fondo in fondo è una ragazza molto forte con grande personalità che alla fine trovato un pò di coraggio per uscire allo scoperto ha saputo far avverare il suo sogno. E' a character that reflects you?

How autobiographical is your novel?

Qual'è il messaggio che vorresti lanciare al lettore?

No so se emerge per chi legge il romanzo, ma Marco e l'amore che anna prova per lui, in realtà sono più un simbolo che altro, Anna usa questo suo amore non corrisposto per nascondersi e non correre rischi nella sua vita. Non è ciò che prova per Marco che le ha impedito di avere altre storie, ma la sua stessa paura. E durante il libro più volte riemerge questo suo terrore di esporsi e rischiare, il romanzo è una parabola di come si debba osare nella vita per ottenere ciò che si vuole, e soprattutto per essere ciò che si può essere a pieno. Non importa che Marco ricambi il suo amore in fondo, il vero lieto fine è che Anna at the end of the novel is a apersona different from before finally leaving the shell. How did you feel when you finally completed the novel?

I took off behind a boulder dale and yet at the same time exposing it to other terror gripped me ..... Tell us a little bit of your experience by publishing this novel. It 'been easy, difficult, suffered ...

I'd suffered. I sent the contest Mondadori, and several publishing houses, only that the competition was protatto for a year before the final decision and this prevented me from accepting of other publishers in the vain hope of being published by Mondadori. So in the end I had no publishing houses willing to pubbici when I finally learned not to win the competition. To pique (yes I'm a vengeful person) the h self-publish with Lulu.com and I must say that it's a nice service. Lulu's edition was very nice and for each copy sold had revenues of all respect, the only problem was that the book was bought only by the lulu site.
Then I heard that two emerging writers come me aveva fatto un acordo con la casa editrice 0111 per creare una collana di autrici rosa e mi sono proposta con Imprinting love. Così il romanzo è stato pubblicato, 30 copie, con la 0111 ed è reperibile su diversi siti online italiani di vedita di libri. Peccato che io non vedrò un solo centesimo di diritti d'autore. Diciamo che l'ho fatto più che altro per pubblicizzare un pò il mio lavoro e per farmi conoscere. Spero di riuscire a vendere le 30 copie.


Sappiamo che ti sei molto impegnata nel tuo progetto di pubblicazione di alcune autrici urban fantasy qui in italia e ne abbiamo visto i risultati soprattutto con la casa editrice Newton e Compton che ha già cominciato a pubblicare la serie della scrittrice Kery dedicated to Arthur Riley Jensen and soon will also publish the series featuring vampires by Christine Feehan. What do you expect for the future? Do you think other publishers will follow in the footsteps of Newton and listen more to the readers?

I have seen progress in high publishing houses, my only fear is pubbici of so many authors of one kind is likely to tire the readers. I do not know what to expect sincerely, publishing in America is more diverse. I believe that several publishers have realized that in times of crisis and rising prices of the books must roll up our sleeves and listen to the readers is part of this.


We know you have written other literary works. Would you talk about you? What is the work that you're more connected? Why?

I have written several short stories and two novels, a fantasy and urban fantasy. Certainly the novel I'm most fond of is the flame of destiny, the fantasy that I worked for three years now. It 's a most mature work and I think it is beautiful, at least I'm nice, and I began to outline a following. I would really would be published by a publisher rather famous, I sent it around and now, expect any replies, I think could have happened, but unfortunately what I believe I do not have much say. Sono affeziona alla fiamma del destino perchè parla di diversi temi a me cari e trovo che i personaggi che la animano siano più realistici di quelli delle altre mie opere.
E soprattutto con un eroina che non deve salvare il mondo facendo qualcosa, ma non facendolo....semplicemente lasciandosi andare e fidandosi degli altri.


Qual'è il consiglio che ti senti di dare ad altri scrittore esordienti?

Cari lettori ,
l'intervista di oggi presenta l'autrice Teresa di Gaetano e in particolar modo il suo romanzo "La bambola di vetro".


Teresa Di Gaetano è diplomata in Giornalismo Radiotelevisivo ed ha collaborato per diverse testate giornalistiche. Giornalista, ha fatto uno stage presso l’ADNKRONOS sezione cultura di Roma, avendo vinto un concorso letterario-giornalistico.
Allieva della rivista “Storie” Rome, his practice at the time, the new literary movement, was published in the anthology. He attended a workshop on journalism and audio-visual techniques "in Rome.

Ciao Teresa benvenuta nel mio blog Italian Emerging Writers, è un piacere per me ospitarti qui! Hai voglia di presentarti?

Ciao Alessandra e grazie per avermi ospitato nel tuo bel blog dedicato agli scrittori emergenti. Mi chiamo Teresa e come molti ho la passione per la scrittura. Una passione che è nata quando ero bambina, grazie a mia madre che sin dalla tenera età mi ha sensibilizzato a leggere prima i grandi classici per ragazzi e poi tutti quei libri che in un modo o nell’altro hanno segnato la storia della letteratura di tutti i tempi. Sono convinta che insegnare ai bambini l’amore per la lettura sia una cosa davvero fondamentale. Certo, quando c’è tanta immaginazione, soprattutto in giovanissima età, non si ha la maturità nel saperla gestire opportunamente. Ma, credo, che comunque è buon punto di partenza per accostarsi al mondo della scrittura.


Tell us about your fantasy novel "The Glass Dolls"?

"The Glass Dolls" is precisely, as you say you love me, a fantasy. It 's a book that came to light in 2007, but was born many years earlier. I started to write it until 1996, but then suddenly I dropped the manuscript. I had written before "The Sand Witches - The Legend of Primrose" and the two stories were similar too. One of my characteristics is that of trying to write books different from each other, so as not to repeat myself, but also to experiment with new ways of telling. I took the manuscript of "The Glass Dolls" later. I was writing my first book of short stories, "Bubble, Bubble! Twelve short stories, "and I just put it in this collection as a long story. But because it was too long, so I decided to publish it separately. The story takes a bit away 'from my original idea, but my intent is to use writing as a place of reflection, as well as avoidance, has succeeded fully.


Where did you get the inspiration for the subject of the book?

The inspiration came to me by reading a small booklet, "The Canterville Ghost" by Oscar Wilde, around the eighties. I tried some time ago, among my papers if he had jotted down the idea (it is my habit when I have an idea write it down in the first paper that happens to me!), but I found nothing. Evidently I did well in the minds. But the book is influenced by other great books like "The Doll" by Boleslaw Prus, "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte and "On the Road" by Jack Kerouak.


What is the character who most represents you?

Mah .. Throughout the book represents me a bit. In every character there is a small part of me. We can talk about favorite character. Well ... Latakia is indisputable that Berard, the beautiful model in Reinhold is in love. I like it because I really love fashion, as a child, besides writing, I have this passion for fashion. I would note that the models in magazines tore the clothes that I liked more and gathered them into a folder containing. Which writers have most influenced your style?

There is one writer in particular that has influenced my style, but books. Non sono però solo libri che mi sono piaciuti; molto spesso sono libri che non mi sono piaciuti e, allora, per discostarmene ho ricercato un nuovo stile, un nuovo modo di raccontare le mie storie.


Perchè hai scelto il genere fantasy?

Il fantasy è un genere che mi è congeniale. Data la mia traboccante immaginazione. E poi con il fantasy si può spaziare con i vari generi. Puoi costruire storie d’amore, puoi scrivere di mistero, non ci sono limiti. Forse l’unico genere (ma che comunque amo moltissimo) che non si può introdurre è quello del romanzo prettamente storico. Sì... molti libri storici sono fantasiosi, ma rimangono giustamente ancorati al loro tempo.


Quali sono i temi principali del romanzo? E quale messaggio vorresti lanciare ai lettori che leggono il tuo romanzo?

La storia non è molto semplice da raccontare, perché ho costruito una trama molto articolata. Praticamente sono due trame in una. Narra dell’avventura soprannaturale di Reinhold Kyd, un ragazzo di una ventina d’anni, che dovrà combattere contro l’avverso Tempo per liberare la contessina Virginia di Bergeijk da un terribile maleficio. L’intento è quello di dar voce, attraverso le belle frasi pronunciate dai personaggi, a tutta quella sfera di sentimenti e sensazioni che permettono di descrivere una piccola the human dimension. What was your path as a writer? Explain how you even managed to publish your book. Do you have any advice for emerging writers?

Initially I tried to write long stories, but then abandoned the manuscripts, and thus the stories there were still incomplete. Then I ventured a little 'with the poems, but with poor results. And so I chose the stories and from there you understand many things. Especially the dynamics of the narrative. You have an idea and write it down somewhere just to take it up. But while the story the narrative texture is developed in a few pages, with novels have to be careful about many things. The contradictions, for example. When did you discover your passion for writing?

Tell us about your other literary works.

I wrote "Sand Witches - The Legend of Primrose." It 's a fantasy tale. Unlike previously published works expected to continue, so the story unfolds in multiple volumes. When I created then I thought about dividing it into five volumes, then I had, as it were an afterthought, dictated by my momentary loss (I was struck by the famous writer's block for a few years and are no longer able to continue the story) , but now I can not give a number to the volume of the saga, but for now I have three more planned over the five already designed. Then, everything will depend on the inspiration of the moment. Meanwhile I'm working on the second volume (it's much bigger than the first!) Which will be titled "Sand Witches - In search of memories." I would like to devote myself to writing other stories, but it is really impossible. Even now that I'm correcting the text ideas to add chapters changing history, so ... However, one thing is certain: the subtitles of the other books in the series were all designed already, so ... wait!

Yes to the witches' sabbath - The legend of Primrose will make presentations, but for now it is premature talk about it yet since the book was not published. Sì... spero mi seguirete numerosi nel mio difficile percorso di aspirante scrittrice, perché la mia passione è autentica, genuina. Amo scrivere perché è un pò come vivere tante vite, quelle dei miei personaggi, con storie diverse sì ma con un unico intento: far volare lontano la fantasia.

Alessandra Hello! First of all, thanks for your time! My name is Federico Ramponi, Class 73, Diploma in Languages, Mom (Helen di 6 anni e Alessandra di quasi 3), moglie di Fabio, impiegata, cantante e scrittrice a tempo molto, molto perso. Tutte queste attività si sono accumulate nel corso degli anni, e sono una la conseguenza/causa dell'altra. Prima di conoscere mio marito cantavo nei pianobar, poi ho smesso perché sono arrivate le bambine e allora ho cominciato a scrivere perché in maternità avevo un po' di tempo libero e l'ispirazione. Adesso che le pupe sono svezzate ho ricominciato a cantare proprio con Fabio, però non voglio smettere di scrivere, ma mi rendo conto che il tempo a mia disposizione è scaduto… quindi sono lenta: sono ferma a pag. 119 del nuovo romanzo da almeno un mese. Però in testa c'è tutto, e molto altro! E poi Elena is a great gym constantly asks me to make up stories! What do you like the fantasy / science fiction? Why did you decide to write a book on the genre?

Nella mia testa si deve essere creato un mix latente fino a oggi! Della fantascienza mi piace quasi tutto, tranne quella più violenta o splatter, quindi largo a Star Trek, Star Wars, Asimov, Silverberg, Wells, Verne, i classici dell'Età d'Oro, ma anche certo Dick e altri più moderni, però al momento sono un po' poco aggiornata. Mi piace come descrivono la nostra possibile vita da qui all'infinito, l'incontro con altre civiltà, non solo le scoperte e le invenzioni, ma anche i cambiamenti della società, le conseguenze a cui possono portare determinati comportamenti reali, il quadro, ottimista o pessimista, del nostro futuro se non fermiamo in tempo lo spreco, la violenza e la cecità delle nostre azioni. You said you write in his spare time and you started during pregnancy. You always liked to write or has been a pleasant surprise? You would have expected to see your novel published?

E che possiamo prendere tutte le contromisure che vogliamo: se gli alieni esistono e arrivano fin qui, vuol dire che sono talmente avanti come tecnologia rispetto alla nostra che non riusciremo a fermarli in nessun modo (con buona pace del secondo tempo di Indipendence day…).

I do not know if they are able to give advice righteous, but I can tell as I did: the experiences will be used to something, at least to share! First of all, I have been looking for someone to tell me if the story made sense, if there were things that just do not want to change or be reconciled. Then I searched on the internet straight to occur at a publishing house, and I arrived at the hut of Beginners: advice to all aspiring writers to visit, it's free and the people who run it are cute, helpful and very very smart! I followed all the directions, including that of sending the manuscript to review their readers: the result was to meet new friends (and Chiara Guidarini Walter Serra, also writers), and at the same time improve il romanzo, che si è anche arricchito di alcune pagine. Poi ho partecipato a qualche concorso, perché nel curriculum volevo mettere qualcosa di più attinente al settore letterario (fino a quel momento avrei potuto mettere solo "mamma, moglie, impiegata e cantante di pianobar", che sono tutte attività lodevoli ma non c'entrano niente coi libri…). I miei racconti sono andati bene, così il mio nome ha cominciato a circolare, e in questo modo ho ottenuto due risultati: avere qualche trascorso letterario da poter segnalare alle case editrici e fare pubblicità ai miei scritti, perché magari se piace il racconto qualcuno si incuriosisce e cerca il romanzo! La ricerca dell'editore è stata lunga, e ho dovuto avere pazienza, e probabilmente senza l'aiuto di Chiara e di Antonia Romagnoli (altra scrittrice che nel frattempo avevo conosciuto) mi sarei inchinata alle proposte con contributo. Però volevo essere pubblicata se valida, non se pagante. Ho aspettato a lungo, ma alla fine ce l'ho fatta!
Direi che bisogna leggere parecchio, ma non in fretta, studiando se possibile lo stile di chi ci piace di più; un corso di scrittura creativa, anche breve, non sarebbe male (ne ho seguito uno, gratuito, condotto da Stas Gawronsky!); è bene confrontarsi con i lettori partecipando a concorsi con i propri racconti (anche in questo caso ce ne sono tantissimi gratis, insomma si capisce che sono tirchia…) e avere tanta pazienza e soprattutto umiltà: mai pensare che la propria opera sia un capolavoro e se gli altri la pensano diversamente sono degli incompetenti! Mai pensare di essere arrivati: il bello è la strada e con chi la percorri! Non devo perdere di vista la componente ludica: è divertimento ideare una trama, è soddisfazione personale riuscire a scrivere la parola "Fine", è meraviglioso incontrare nuove amiche con cui condividere dubbi, sconfitte, vittorie! Io sono appena partita, vedremo se saprò migliorare, continuare o se questo rimarrà il mio primo e ultimo romanzo! Di sicuro non sono ancora una scrittrice, ma ce la sto mettendo tutta!

Let's talk a little bit of your book MOONLIGHT RAINBOW why this title?

Nasce da un’esperienza fatta quando abitavo in pianura, in una sera di nebbia. In cortile, la luna sembrava a portata di mano. Era enorme e circondata da anelli colorati che sfumavano l’uno nell’altro. Dovevo essere ammattita, l’idea era più o meno quella. Poi la scoperta: l’arcobaleno di luna esisteva veramente! Così quando per Ethan e Liz tutto sta per cambiare, la luna li abbaglia con un segno davvero incredibile: Moonlight Rainbow, arcobaleno di luna.

E' il tuo primo romanzo oppure è già da tempo che coltivi questa passione?

La scrittura di narrativa nasce vent’anni fa esatti. E non bastano ancora; non tutto ciò che voleva esser scritto in Moonlight ha trovato la strada giusta per uscirmi dalle dita. Ma è come se la via sia stata aperta e le scene di In una gelida rosa, il seguito, stanno uscendo molto vivide, atterrano sulla pagina senza mediazione direttamente dal Maniero dei Rochester :-)

Hai in previsione un nuovo romanzo?

Più che in previsione è già in fase di stesura:-). È “In una gelida rosa” appunto. Sono trascorsi due anni dalla conclusione di Moonlight. Tutto comincia con il risuonare lugubre di una risata in una grotta, mentre a miglia e miglia di distanza Liz e Ethan aspettano con ansia l'arrivo di una misteriosa lettera... Uscirà il prossimo autunno.

È stato semplicissimo, è bastato convincere me stessa che storie seguite da 50 mila visitatori avessero buone chances di interessare anche il pubblico della carta stampata. Come mainstream uno dei libri migliori che ho letto ultimamente è Le imperfezioni di Valerio Varesi, ho amato molto L’antidoto alla malinconia di Meldini, mi è molto piaciuto e lo consiglio a tutte Uto di Andrea De Carlo, Utz di Chatwin, Il mago di Maugham. E ancora il Benni di Pieveloce Achille che però richiede un lettore non culturalmente suscettibile. E questo della suscettibilità è un topic that I'd like to talk if you like.
