dopo un pò di tempo dall'ultima intervista ritorno proponendovi un nuovo autore esordiente: Stefano Procopio . Mi scuso per l'assenza ma sono stata completamente assorbita dall'altro mio blog per tante cose.

Ciao Stefano, benvenuto nel mio blog Italian Emerging Writers. Ti va di presentarti ai lettori?
S: Eccoci. Questa è una domanda capace di stroncarti la carriera sul nascere =). Ovviamente sto scherzando: sono Stefano Procopio, un altro piccolo fungo spuntato nel magico mondo della letteratura. 21 anni, fiorentino di nascita ma con sangue emiliano. Oltre ad avere la passione per la scrittura sono anche un grande amante del cinema che tra l'altro sto studiando: teoria a Bologna e pratica qui a Firenze. Ma per capire davvero che tipo sono vi rimando alla biografia riportata sul retro del mio libro, non si può sbagliare ;)
Sei un autore molto giovane che coltiva molti interessi. Quando è nata la tua passione per la scrittura?
S: Se faccio uno sforzo di memoria, torno a sei anni, quando frequentavo la prima elementare e avevo appena imparato a leggere. Ricordo che per abbreviare i tempi di un evento che attendevo con particolare impazienza cercavo di distrarmi inventando e scrivendo storie che qualcuno dei miei compagni si divertiva poi a leggere. Tutto è cominciato da lì, e la mia passione è stata coltivata lungo gli anni della mia esistenza. Un buon merito lo hanno però anche i miei maestri che oltre ad insegnare la grammatica in modo corretto sapevano anche stimolare la fantasia con temi (all'epoca li chiamavano "testi narrativi") molto particolari.
Hai un processo creativo particolare? Cosa fai mentre scrivi?
S: Non ho un processo creativo particolare, ma forse per alcuni può essere curioso. Diciamo che mi vengono delle idee, semplici soggetti, e a queste idee do un periodo di prova. Io sono un ragazzo il cui stato emotivo varia continuamente, perciò è difficile che una di queste idee mi appassioni allo stesso modo dopo anche solo due settimane. Di quelle che "sopravvivono" comincio subito a studiare trama, risvolti, approfittandone magari per arricchire un po' la mia cultura se in alcuni ambiti mi rendo account that are specific knowledge. I just choose what is right for me and let me go. The music does the rest.
When was reflected in your first novel, The Wrath of Heaven published by Sassoscritto? Would you talk about?
S: Present the superhero images to be when you child? When you become this big figure is lacking and is often the case that you forget it. In my case the hero, whom he later took the name of Raekow is not dead, but was separated from me, has become a completely separate set of which I was involved in my imagination. Soon then came other requirements, needed to build the typical "hero's journey" - a term for free excerpt from the text of Chris Vogler. I refer to psychological and physical construction of the allies, the bad, the implications, the environment, travel, all of which were improved over time. I must be honest: I do not remember the exact moment I stopped thinking about all this. And 'something unconscious that I had already begun in elementary school, I do not remember how it all started. E 'but when I started considering my passion for writing seriously, especially when I won my first competition (Mario Conti - XXV edition) that I decided to collect all the little ideas spread over these years and extend a line of reasoning that bind. In a way I could say that "The Wrath of Heaven" is part of me is like an extension of my DNA. :)

Why did you choose the fantasy genre? And what do you think of the fantasy scene in Italy?
S: Actually I did not choose the fantasy (the fantasy that chose me - sorry, I'll stop). Seriously, I have never taken much of the fantasy scene, and still do not consider myself a fantasy writer. I'm not saying that "The Wrath of Heaven" does not meet this kind, mind you, I say it was an accident. I like to write about everything, but I prefer the stories of mystery and horror, perhaps because of the influence of his uncle Steve (Stephen King) or for the many films in this genre I've seen. As for the Italian fantasy environment, I admit that I began to observe it only when I found myself there too, and so do not think I could give concrete opinion. In recent times I read the work remarkable, one of the other two of my neighbors, but it seems to me that the Italian publishing is more interested in betting on us young people, perhaps with good ideas but with a style totally perfect, rather than on people who really deserve.
this your first novel is not just a fantasy novel but also a coming of age story in which we see the protagonists embark on an adventurous journey to find the murderess of their father but also of themselves. Why this choice?
S: First dicevo che mi occupo solo di storie che superano il "periodo di prova". Questa idea, non solo ha superato il test con ottimi risultati, ma mi ha assillato per praticamente metà della vita. Ho scritto la prima versione del libro tra i nove e i dieci anni, e come è comprensibile faceva ridere i polli. L'ho riscritta altre quattro volte, modificandone di volta in volta gli espedienti narrativi. L'ultima versione l'ho scritta a diciannove anni: finalmente aveva una forma che mi soddisfacesse. Ne vorrei approfittare però per chiarire quel "romanzo di formazione" che pare generare molti fraintendimenti o addirittura discordanze. I miei personaggi, o almeno i tre protagonisti iniziali, sono ragazzini orfani che hanno vissuto in una catapecchia fino al giorno where the story begins. There is something autobiographical in the book? You reflect on some of your character?
S: Yes and no. There is little autobiographical. Indeed, often what they say to my players or the strong emotions they feel are the testimony of special people with whom I had the chance to talk ... At the same time ALL, I say, all the characters including the antagonist, have something to me (except the female ones, perhaps, for anatomical reasons more than anything else;)). They are the hidden side of my personality that I have an extreme in their construction. It must be said that in all the forums which I joined, I have chosen nickname "Raekow" which is the name of uno dei protagonisti, quello che un po' più di importanza. E' inesatto dire che mi rispecchio in lui, ma certo è che è diventato, con gli anni, il mio idolo...
Ti va di raccontarci la tua esperienza di pubblicazione?
S: E' in realtà la classica storia dell'esordiente che pubblica. Una volta finito di scrivere il libro, prima di tutto mi sono occupato di trovare qualche persona esperta che me lo correggesse e valutasse. Per fortuna avevo a chi rivolgermi. Dopodiché ho mandato il manoscritto a diverse case editrici. Ho valutato i vari contratti che mi erano stati offerti, ritentato, aspettato, riflettuto, fatto un giro di telefonate, e poi ho scelto la Sassoscritto, con la quale è nato un buon rapporto di amicizia.
Cosa ne pensi del panorama editoriale legato agli scrittori esordienti in Italia?
S: Come dicevo prima, gli esordienti sono messi allo sbando più per l'età che per l'effettiva qualità dell'opera. E' un peccato, perché molti di questi ragazzi avrebbero davvero possibilità di diventare dei grandi scrittori, se solo qualcuno si occupasse di migliorarli. Con questa manovra tra l'altro vengono danneggiati anche coloro che davvero hanno qualcosa da offrire. Spero di non apparire incoerente o addirittura presuntuoso dicendo questo, non è mia intenzione, also because they are exactly the same boat. What are your future plans?
S: I hope to write a sequel to my book. In this last period I'm investigating another subject which I hope will be my next novel. Also from next year begin the activities with the Golf Association Long dedicated to independent films. I will strive to emerge in at least one of the fields.
